Dr. Elinne Becket - @bielleogy on all platforms @bielleogy My friend is a PhD student whose dog is trained to alert emotional ... distress. She did not realize that bringing the dog to work would result in the dog alerting the whole damn lab all day. 10:12 PM ⚫ Mar 8, 2024 3.5M Views 85 12.3K 38K ☐ 1.3K ←]

Status Post Malone @manischwitzmami That dog is amazing @ multitasking. My service animal only works for me. Someone else could faint (one of the things he has a task response for)in front of him and he minds his business and keeps watching me. We've literally tested .I guess he said he has one job lol 1:31 AM Mar 9, 2024 90.3K Views

Katya @Demonic Nesquik My service dog in training will sometimes attempt to alert strangers when they suddenly get anxious... the problem is that sometimes, they're anxious because of a fear of dogs 8:40 PM Mar 9, 2024 11.2K Views we're working on it

Katya @DemonicNesquik Yeah it definitely can be! ... It's actually really cool how it works. Basically dogs are able to smell when our body's produce stress hormones. So you can pretty easily train them to recognize it and alert you when you produce it. Since every person smells different (in general and when they're stressed), some SDS/SDITS won't recognize the "stress smell” in anybody other than their handler. However others, like mine, can. This Katrina nice things @ISpyAnonymously When I started taking my son to therapy, the therapist's dog would bark the entire session. He responds to anxiety. From this the therapist gave me the line "you're breaking my dog, please come in for your own therapy." Now I'm setting off his puppy twice a week too. ☑ 4:21 AM · Mar 9, 2024 16.1K Views

sal @salFreeApps ... My boss' dog is a former therapy dog (specifically trained for stress) that was rescued. One day we're on video chat & boss is complaining about what big boss did & the dog runs in the room & jumps on her lap. “Oh. I guess I was more pissed off about it than I thought!” 11:09 AM Mar 9, 2024 3,987 Views

Alah @a_too_lah One of the members in my grad school cohort had a service dog who was also an emotional support dog. I grew up afraid of pups and the 1st few months the poor thing spent the whole time trying to emotionally support me through my fear of him. 8:59 PM Mar 9, 2024 1,626 Views .

shadesof_gold @felixculpa18 I'm scared of strange large dogs and a German Shepherd trained to comfort emotional distress approached me and licked my hand in the hallway where I passed it. It was a funny paradox. 8:52 AM · Mar 9, 2024 4,227 Views •

Christy Jordan-Fenton @CJordanFenton When I was teaching adult learners I always brought my dog to class. She would instantly go to whoever was feeling anxious. I would know who to follow up with and check on by who she spent a lot of time with. 9:28 AM - Mar 9, 2024 3,239 Views

AngrilyDespondent @DLoweryAU ... I have an untrained pup who just knows. Right through my worst depressive episodes (and anytime someone is sick) she lay or squashed up next to me/them. As soon as I/they recover she's off sleeping by herself again. 8:28 AM · Mar 9, 2024 2,475 Views
